An Ultra!
What if you are a seasoned Ultra runner, looking for a 40 mile PB on our gently rolling scenic course? How about a great day out for running club teams? Pit your best runners against each other in an inter-club relay challenge. Plus, the family friendly course, with great vantage points for supporters, is dotted with visitor attractions to keep the whole family happy and entertained.
Whatever your reason, come to The Dukeries in North Nottinghamshire and make a weekend of it!
The route follows a 30 or 40 mile
loop taking in some of the most
beautiful and undiscovered sandstone villages and historical sites in
England.
Starting in the heart of Sherwood Forest and keeping mostly to forest
trails and footpaths, the route passes charming
lodges, through Cresswell Crags and skirts the Welbeck Estate. It
crosses Clumber Park and through peaceful farm land before looping back
to pass by the Thoresby Estate before returning to Sherwood Forest.
Registration from 07:00 at Race Headquarters Walesby Sports and Social Club.

£60(affiliated), £68/£70(unaffiliated) 4 person relay (30 mile) or 5 person relay (40 mile)
Online entries will close 4th May 2013. After online entry closes contact the organisers for additional entries at the increased cost of £35 or £65 for a team.
The Dukeries Ultra offers a 30 or 40 mile option. Both options are suitable for runners. The route is made up of mostly off road woodland and historic estates, by-ways and old cart tracks to hidden lakes and lodges.
Parking: Parking is at the back of the Walesby Sports and Social Club.
Course: The course takes a circular route on waymarked paths, providing a very scenic 30 or 40 mile run. Maps and route details will be provided by the organisers. We currently have route data and a map to download. Checkpoint details available later.
Toilets: There are toilets at the Race Headquaters.
Drinks & Refreshments: There
will be a drinks station
in the start area providing water and orange squash. At the finish
there will be
hot soup and rolls, tea, coffee and cake. The aid stations throughout
will be
stocked with at least water, bananas and flapjack.
First Aid: A small
first aid kit will be available at each aid station to offer antiseptic
wipes and plasters. There will also be a fully equipped paramedic
ambulance based at race headquarters.
Massage: Sports massage will be provided by Alex and his team from Prehability after the race at a price of £10 for 15 minutes.
Race Goodies: Each competitor can also choose from a T Shirt or a commemorative mug.
